The two buildings were photographed from a boat during a Chicago Architectural Tour in July. The abstract reflections were captured the next morning during a walk along the river. This Green Winged Cicada (Diceroprocta vitripennis) is an annual variety. I managed to grab a few photos on my phone. Cicada wings are tiny and compressed when they emerge, but it didn’t take long for the beautiful green wings to fully unfurl and carry the insect away… leaving its former self behind.

The chickens in Thailand, like many other animals, wander freely everywhere. These lucky fowl reside at Sanam Chan Palace in Nakhon Pathom, a European style complex about an hour outside of Bangkok. Photography is not allowed inside the buildings that are associated with the royal family, but I find the residents who live on the grounds more interesting.
